It seems that everyone is stressed out about the economy these days. Unfortunately, many of us consider shopping to be a great stress reliever. Rather counterproductive, eh? We can still engage in some retail therapy as long as we're not breaking the bank, so check out these online sales for the ultimate feel-good shopping experience.
- Today marks the last day of Yoox's online sample sale. Don't miss your chance to get great finds from big names like Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Eva Herzigova, and many more at prices you'll feel comfortable paying.
- The semi-annual sale at Victoria's Secret starts today, with discounts up to 60 percent off. This super-popular sale tends to get picked over quickly, so if you're in need of some cute new underthings, act fast.
- Stocking up for your traditional Memorial Day barbecue may seem a bit harder on the wallet this year. To help ease the pain, BevMo is offering $10 off in stores and online. But hurry: The offer ends today!
- Shopping isn't your only guilty pleasure? The Bachelorette premieres tonight on ABC.

Your wallet is going to hate me for this, but online shopping just got a little more exciting. In fact, today resembles something from a fashionista's dream — here's why:
 |
- In celebration of the 2008 Whitney Biennial, Gap has joined forces with top contemporary artists in producing a cool line of t-shirts. The limited-edition designs, which range from racy statements about politics to abstract colorful creations, are available today in select Gap stores as well as at the Whitney, the San Francisco MOMA, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Colette, and Gap.com.
- Calling all Project Runway fans. You can now get a piece of Rami Kashou's masterfully draped collection online at Maneaterthreads.com. He may have not won the show, but he's winning hearts with his fabulous new pieces.
- Online luxe-lovers rejoice! Today, Balenciaga is opening its first e-commerce site stateside, initially selling bags, shoes, sunglasses, scarves, and jewelry. Welcome to 2008, Balenciaga!
- Can't bear to think about filling your car with gas, let alone your closet with Balenciaga? American Apparel is having a secret swim sale. Enter code SWIM08E at checkout and get 20 percent off all bathing suits from now until May 27.

Finding cool and artsy products for your home is hard work, especially if you want one-of-a-kind stuff that no one else has. Thankfully, the MoMA Store does a great job of making cutting-edge designs available to and affordable for a mainstream audience. The recently launched Destination Japan collection highlights home accessories, jewelry, and children's products usually available only Japan, and it's enough to make anyone's design-loving heart go pitter-patter.
This limited-time collection features products from established and emerging Japanese designers that are fun, unique, and authentic. A few objects of my affection include:
- Folding Bread Board, $75. A shape-shifting cutting board catches crumbs and stores easily.
- Color Changing Scarf, $110. Remember Hypercolor Shirts? Same concept, cooler design.
- Ramen Spoon/Fork, $12. Twist noodles and ladle soup with a spork that you really could have used in college.
- Hands-Free Umbrella, $50. The flexible handle makes you think, "Why didn't I think of that?"
- Duckbill Soy Sauce Dispenser, $35. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, then it must be a condiment holder.
- For something else you don't see all the time, Britney Spears makes her second appearance on How I Met Your Mother tonight.

Mom probably just assumes at this point that you'll forget to call her on Mother's Day. Shock her this year by not only remembering to call but also sending a gift on time.
Order online today, and most merchants will be able to get your gift there before Sunday if you choose three-day shipping or faster — ground shipping is out of the question. I know it's not always easy finding presents for the woman who changed your diapers, so I've found a few gifts in several price ranges that are certain to make her smile.
- $$$$
Sterling Silver Tapered Circle Pendant, $178. You'll get free shipping, and Mom will be proud that you didn't borrow money to buy it.
- $$$
Organic Calla Lilies, $55. Sending flowers can be cliché, but sending organic flowers delivers a unique message.
- $$
Jewelry Box, $35. All moms appreciate a place for their jewelry, even if it's made of macaroni.
- $
Remember Your Passwords Pad, $7.50. Maybe she'll actually email you now that she knows her password.
- FREE
This cheeky Mother's Day ecard will make mom laugh — and hopefully forget that you didn't send her a real card.

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style without wrapping yourself in a Mexican flag. Check out these three festive dresses under $50 that won't break the bank, which means you'll have a few more dollars to spend on margaritas and guac. Olé! Plus, this trio of red, white, and green frocks is versatile enough to wear all Spring.
- Green: Tie Strap Lazer Dress, $26.50. Wear this dress right into Summer.
- White: Powdered Milk Shirt Dress, $34.50. Works in an office and in a bar.
- Red: Coil Rosette Dress, $29.80. Look great sipping a margarita tonight or a cosmo on Friday.
- More concerned about the issues in our country? The Indiana and North Carolina primaries are tomorrow — go out and vote if you can. For everyone else, fingers crossed we finally find out who the Democratic nominee is.

A relaxing vacation can be great for your skin, but sadly, it’s not practical to run off to Tahiti every week in order to get a fresh face. Fortunately, you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on a trip to the South Pacific in search of the new skincare secret called Monoi oil.
In fact, this little-known moisturizing oil from Tahiti has made its way stateside, and some of our favorite cosmetic companies are starting to add it to their line-up. The beauty world is buzzing about this oil, and so am I. Check out a few of my favorites:
- Dior DiorBronze Monoi Gelee Beautifying Moisturizer, $32. For skin and hair.
- Curel Targeted Therapy Fast-Absorbing Hand & Cuticle Cream, $2.50. Super affordable.
- The Body Shop Monoi Miracle Oil, $20. Add it to your bath too.
- Billy Jealousy Golden Gloves Therapeutic Hand Cream, $28. Pricey, but worth it.
- Nars Monoi Body Glow II, $59. The real flower inside the bottle is a nice touch.

Of all days, today is one day when you don't want to be seen walking around with a plastic bag. Clogging our landfills with ugly plastic bags: unchic. Toting around reusable bags that make a statement: chic. So in honor of Mother Earth's Day, I've rounded up my five favorite tote bags that you can use every day.
- Chocolate Brown MinusBag, $16. Holds as much as two plastic bags.
- Beleaf Bag, $36. Made from organic cotton.
- Saving the Planet Shopper, $13. Tells it like it is.
- CC Skye Green Luxe High Eco Tote, $250. For the fashionistas.
- Natural Envirosax Hemp Bag, $22. Three times stronger than a cotton bag.
- What else is tote-ally awesome? Bring your empty Kiehl's bottles back to a Kiehl's store for recycling today, and the first 50 customers will receive a reusable Kiehl's shopping tote.
